Tom Connellan:The suspect grabbed the victim from behind and cut his throat with an unknown type of blade. The victim stated that there was no argument or disagreement between them before he was attacked, and the suspect then calmly walked away.The victim had a large laceration but it seems to have missed the major arteries. The victim said he drove himself to the St. Joseph Hospital emergency room. The victim described his assailant as a white male who was looking, about 5 foot 9, thin build with short dark hair. He was wearing a blue baseball hat, a black jacket with the letters on the back and blue jeans.A Rural Metro ambulance drove the victim to Upstate University Hospital, where the emergency room staff determined that he had about a 6 inch stab wound in his neck. The victim underwent burberry emergency surgery but his injury appeared to be non life threatening.
